Grammar Future

Scone Grammar School is a positive, flourishing learning hub for Preschool to Year 12 students from all over the Upper Hunter.

We provide an opportunity for families from country towns up to an hour and a half commute, to have their children flourish in their learning. In a thriving regional area, the Horse Capital of Australia, our positive, flourishing learning community provides an exceptional alternative to boarding away from the Upper Hunter.
Over the past five years, our K-12 student numbers have grown by 28% to 646 students. Our Secondary student numbers have grown by 59% to 312 students and our Primary student numbers have grown by nearly 10%. Whilst we're nearing our student capacity, we need to grow our facilities to inspire and support the growth of our flourishing learners.

Scone Grammar School is expanding our building to the next stage of our master plan, which will incorporate two new Science labs, a senior study area and common room, more staff facilities, and a welcoming administration space to support and welcome students and families. We will also be expanding the Library to incorporate additional seminar rooms. These areas will form an ideal space for self-motivated study, as well as Distance Education tuition.

We are excited by these expansions. Despite building more facilities, however, we cap the number of students in each class to ensure an optimum learning environment. Many of our classes are full, though spaces remain in some of year groups.

“Our overall purpose at Scone Grammar School is to enrich our students’ lives. This can only be done by striving for student and staff wellbeing and academic excellence while making sure that the learning at Scone Grammar School is supported by state-of-the-art facilities that nurture and support our students. Positive environments promote and support positive learning.” Mr Paul Smart, Principal
