Junior School Overview

The Head of Primary and Deputy Principal is Mr. Graeme Feeney.

Welcome to Scone Grammar School!

Primary classes at Scone Grammar School extend from Kindergarten to Year 6, providing a student-centred approach to education within a caring, supportive and well-resourced environment.

Our priority is seeking to establish strong foundations for all students in literacy and numeracy, together with providing opportunity to participate in a well-balanced, rigorous and stimulating academic and co-curricular programme.

Small class sizes enable teachers to focus upon the individual needs of each child and dedicated staff work collaboratively as a strong team, to establish productive learning environments at each stage of learning.

Great importance is placed on our Christian values base, with weekly RE and Chapel programmes supporting this important area. Strong partnership links are fostered between school and home, ensuring students are encouraged in a consistent and supportive manner.

As part of a K-12 school, Primary students enjoy the benefits of access to specialist staff and facilities, including the Bullock Library and Technology Centre. Year 6 students are able to make a smooth transition into secondary schooling, maintaining established friendships, consistent values and continuity in their education.

A strong pastoral care emphasis is maintained throughout Primary classes, supported by established Peer Support and Year 6 ‘Kindergarten’ Buddy programmes. Student leadership is actively developed, together with opportunities for participation in the Student Representative Council (SRC).

Visitors are always welcome and I look forward to meeting with you.
